Abstract

The aim of the present study was to examine the main trends in traumatic injuries of the eye and eye socket among the population of Azerbaijan Republic. Absolute and intensive (per 100,000 population) indices, gender and age-related differences over the period of 2006-2011 have been studied. As shown, the occurrence of traumatic injuries of the eye and eye socket per 100,000 population has been increasing over the said time frame being generally higher in big cities. Injuries of this kind are characterized by age- and gender-related differences. Household injury accounts for the most of them.
