Abstract

The design plan, system structure, overall objective, monitoring projects, data acquisition, data quiries and alaming function of the remote vibration monitoring system for the Zhengzhou Yellow River Bridge are introduced. Operational results show that: The remote vibration monitoring system guarantees normal and stable performance, credible monitoring results and easy and convenient data querying; the whole monitoring system is made flexible and changeable so that the working parameters can be remotely set and the monitoring contents and functions can be changed and extended to a certain extent; the monitoring data can be analyzed online, the working conditions of the system can be remotely diagnosed, the system can be reset by itself when hanging up and nobody is needed to be on duty on site. Since the system was put into operation, the management department of the Bridge can see and control the lateral vibration at midspans of all girders on upline and 18 girders on downline at any time. Corresponding technical and managerial measures can be taken in time if any problems occur. Now, the system is playing an important role in decision-making of operation, management and maintenance of the Bridge, and it contributes a lot to ensuring the safety of the trains running on the Bridge and the structure of the Bridge itself.
