Abstract

Work on the track exposes personnel to serious danger due to moving rail vehicles, and such danger must be averted using all possible technical and organisational safety precautions. The legislation, legal precedents and the accident prevention regulations of the accident insurance funds all call for a sufficiently high level of protection to counter the high risk. Constant efforts are required to bring about improvements in this regard. The article provides an overview of current trends in the development of safety methods.
