Abstract

This article presents the results of three crash tests to evaluate side air bag effectiveness conducted by the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (N.H.T.S.A.). In each test, a vehicle was propelled sideways at approximately 20 mph into a fixed pole. N.H.T.S.A. Test #10006 involved a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Cab; N.H.T.S.A. Test #10033 involved a 2017 Honda Ridgeline; and N.H.T.S.A. Test #10036 involved a 2017 Nissan Titan Crew Cab.
