Abstract

In this article, the authors report results of the crash testing of a non-proprietary, high-tension four-cable median barrier developed by the Midwest States Pooled Fund. The crashworthiness of the cable system was evaluated according to Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) criteria. The article describes test requirements and evaluation criteria for three full-scale crash tests, details the design and execution of the crash tests, and offers an analysis of the results.
