Abstract

This National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) report describes a 2015 crash involving a stretch amphibious passenger vehicle (DUCK 6) and a Bellair Charters motorcoach in Seattle, Washington. The report details the precollision events, the crash event, crash fatalities and injuries, and the emergency response. The vehicles' design, equipment and sustained damage are also described as are driver factors, highway factors, and motor carrier factors. Following a description of regulations associated with amphibious passenger vehicles, an in-depth accident analysis is provided.
