Abstract

This article presents the results of three crash tests to evaluate side air bag effectiveness conducted by the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (N.H.T.S.A.). This round of tests focused on late model year vehicles and, in each test, a vehicle was propelled sideways at approximately 20 mph into a fixed pole. N.H.T.S.A. Test #10738 involved a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer, N.H.T.S.A. Test #10766 involved a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze, and N.H.T.S.A. Test #10772 involved a 2019 Nissan Altima S.
